Originally created by Italian mask maker Amleto Sartori at the request of renowned theater teacher Jacques Lecoq, the neutral mask is now used in actor training programs around the world to teach performers how to master their own physical quirks and attain the neutral state upon which all other characters are built. Available in papier-mâché only; available in leather in 2012.
Drawing inspiration from the stock characters of the Italian commedia dell’arte, our commedia masks retain the spirit of their predecessors without blindly copying the classical forms. Currently available in papier-mâché only: Capitano, Pulcinella, and Elderly Zanni.
Custom masks for theater, film, television, photography or special events are available upon request. We create masks from a variety of materials such as papier-mâché, leather, neoprene, latex and plastic depending on the application. Please write to info@mister-face.com to request a quote.
